The Gradkin Story…
In today’s economic market the war for talent may have changed somewhat. But with an upturn in sight, companies need to refocus their efforts on engaging today’s millennials in order to build a strong workforce prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. The global financial crisis may have crippled commerce and forced some organisations to surrender their market dominance, but the strongest players have emerged due to their attention to attract, motivate and retain top talent.
The mission to compete in a global environment by building a strong corporation of the best candidates starts today!
Who: Gradkin is open to all students and recent graduates of degree issuing institutions and colleges in Singapore, including overseas universities with local representative campuses. It will subsequently be rolled out at other institutions across Asia.
What: Gradkin is an online application intended to provide university students with a platform to showcase who they are and how they can add value to their future employers. The platform also enables companies to illustrate their culture and ultimately attract the right candidates.
Why: So many reasons! Today, the process of graduate recruitment is inefficient and we believe it can be enhanced significantly. Students desire a more interactive and informative method to their job search and companies require a direct platform to reach out to the best talent. We’ve already seen this trend materialise as companies utilise popular social networking sites; however in our opinion, these existing technologies are not suitable for graduate recruitment.
Where: Initially Singapore, with a view to expand across Asia.
When: The beta version has been released to an invited community with the next release being open to the public from March 1st, 2010.
How: By leveraging innovative web 2.0 technologies, candidates and employers can cultivate a unique profile that demonstrates their identity while engaging in virtual discussions about careers.
